For some people, social media is a stepping stone and for others, it is just a place to have all the fun in the world. True as it is, social media has made life amusing but it is important to weigh in that whatever we do on social media, one way or the other affects our reputation. Google defines reputation as the beliefs or opinions that are generally held about someone or something or it is how much respect and admiration someone or something receives, based on past behaviour or character(English dictionary). People easily become familiarised with what they see and for the internet, whatever you put out there, seems to depict who you really are. You may have a private life, but that is only known to your everyday people.
Predominantly, we must heed to whatever we upload on our platforms. It isn't startlinh that the TRUMP ADMINISTRATION is set to request five years of social media history for all visa applicants. To maintain a good reputation, we must as well not overlook our social media life.Talk of the images we upload, what we share and write on our walls, our tweets, the comments we give, especially to avoid cyberbullying and businesswise, the way we respond to our customers so we do not loose them.
Online, we tend to meet very influencial people and some are making good use of such opportunities as a benefit derived from using social media. For the youth, this should be one of our topmost priorities and as such we must build positive reputations.
It is also important to note that, our online footprints are left forever and this is why we must post right in other not to ruin the future.#postright
